The Interceltic Festival of Lorient is the largest festival in Brittany and France. It attracts an average of 750,000 visitors and spectators each year! While the town of Lorient is the base of the Interceltic Festival, festival-goers can take advantage of all the activities available in Lorient Bretagne Sud: beaches, visits, walks they will add to the cultural discovery you will experience at the Festival!
Every year, for 10 days at the beginning of August, the event brings together 11 Celtic nations in Lorient (Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Cornwall, Isle of Man, Galicia, Asturias, Brittany, United States, Acadia in Canada, Australia). Each nation have their pavilion with concerts to enjoy. Every year, the public comes to applaud over 4500 artists (musicians, dancers, visual artists, film-makers…). And it has been going on for 50 years!
In 2023 the festival celebrate Irland from the 4th to the 13th of August. discover the programme here on the Festival Interceltique de Lorient website!
In Lorient, 120 shows, over half of them are free
120 shows take place on stage, and 60% of them are free !
On the first Sunday of the Festival, the Great Parade of Celtic Nations is a key show. The full programme is available on the Festival Interceltique website.
The programme is already online, go check it out on the festival website! The various program includes The Kilkennys, Clannad, Suzann Vega, Barzaz, Hubert-Félix Thiéfaine, An Hent Treuz, Denez… and many more artists. You can book your tickets on the website.

Lorient, the Inter-Celtic capital: music everywhere!
At the Interceltic Festival of Lorient, you can dance during a fest-noz, attend sporting events, visit arts and costumes exhibitions, eat and drink Celtic, discover Celtic crafts, visit every stands. Throughout the event, the town of Lorient celebrates every day and night!
Morbihan’s inhabitant are huge fans of the event, which also attracts many French and foreign tourists.
