You are here in Finistère, and really well, at the “End of the Earth”!
The Pointe du Raz is classified as a Grand Site de France and rises to a height of 72 metres. Majestically cut out towards the ocean, this point which defies the elements is a real spectacle, constantly changing. Its high cliffs covered with moorland are of great beauty.
Opposite the point, in the Raz de Sein, are the Phare de la Vieille and the Phare de Tévennec. You can even see the Ile de Sein and the Ar Men lighthouse (on a clear day).
Bird sanctuary and safe hiking trail
Here you can admire many sea birds, due to the protection of the headland’s ecosystem, protected since 1996 (Cape Sizun Ornithological Reserve). Telescopes and binoculars can be borrowed at the entrance.
After leaving the site, “La Route du Vent solaire” is a beautiful tourist route to follow, between the Pointe du Raz and Penmarc’h.
Continue the route along safe paths; in particular towards the Pointe du Millier, the Pointe de Beuzec, and the Pointe de Brézellec, which have a view of the Cap de la Chèvre.
Also to be seen nearby: the Baie des Trépassés and its huge beach, the Pointe du Van, the Bay of Douarnenez and the Bay of Audierne.
